Established in 2043 B.S. (1986 AD) with a vision of being “A Complete School at Everyone’s Reach” (In Nepali: सबैको पहुँचमा एउटा सम्पूर्ण विद्यालय), Golden Gate English Secondary School (GGESS) is an English medium, co-educational and visionary educational institution of national repute and international network. The school is ideally located at Byasi, Mahakalisthan, Bhaktapur Municipality, Ward no. 6 (just behind the Mahakali temple and west from Khwopa College), with its own modern and well-facilitated Senior Block Building, Administrative Building, separate earthquake-resistant state-of-the-art Montessori block – Golden Gate Kids’ Villa and earthquake-resistant Primary Palace built with Prefab Technology.
The school has successfully redefined the education with the breakthrough conceptualization and implementation of two different concepts – Torture Free Teaching Environment (TFTe) for students’ behavior and discipline management and Multiple Intelligences based Project Based Learning (#MI_PBL) for transforming the entire teaching-learning process giving creating a shift towards real progressive education.
Along with these innovations, the school regularly operates a number of carefully chosen and crafted national and international activities so as to ensure 21st Century Global Education, with cultural roots as follows:
At GGESS, education means quality education through EDUCARE bringing about the holistic development of a child by dint of various inputs of systematically planned curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. Thus, the best efforts are always put to harness intellectual, mental, psychological, physical, emotional and social development in the students. Here, a galaxy of qualified, well-trained and experienced teachers passionate about teaching collectively work to provide such an environment where meaningful freedom and discipline, value-based teaching, complete activities based on students’ needs and interests, respectful interpersonal relations, etc. could be ensured.
The comparatively modest fees charged by the school (probably the lowest amongst all the private secondary schools in Bhaktapur) but the incomparably high quality of education has astonishingly developed a new conception amongst the parents as well as students, “Quality education is NOT synonymous with expensive fees”.
